Divided We Stand: A Standalone Bloodline Novel 5
註釋Marcus Tychon Triarius is a Kentuckian, a Bluegrass Borderline. He admires President Lincoln but has enormous respect for Jefferson Davis. Marcus is a remarkable sharpshooter with a divided conscience and a cantankerous sibling forever talking of their valiant ancestors. Rebelling against his family, he dons the Union Blue but is blown off his feet at the Battle of Perryville on his first day at war. He sees his friend's heart beat its last beat and he runs; he runs straight into trouble. Discharged, he falls into a ruinous lifestyle and very soon becomes involved in a gunfight where three men die - three sons of Grandpa Tyrone Color, a wealthy rancher adept at dispensing excessive brutality. Marcus is forced to flee south but on the journey down to Louisiana the disillusioned marksman falls foul of Riverboat Law, resulting in a show trial and instant detention in New Orleans' notorious Parish Prison. There he meets with a man by the name of Fr Francis Xavier Seelos. While waiting to hang, Triarius is forced to face his demons in the most brutal, nightmarish fashion.
