This research entitled "the Ongoing Formation in the Light of Pastores Dabo Vobis for the Diocesan Priests in Li-fen, China Today" examines extensively the significance of Pope John Paul's Pastores Dabo Vobis on the spiritual life of diocesan priests of Lin-fen, China and how it affects their spirituality as it is integrated in their ongoing formation. It likewise situates theaforementioned document historically by tracing the socio-political situation in China since the time of Communism until the present time to see the current place of Christianity in China today. It also looks into how the said document affects the stand of the Church of China therby discovering the current position of ongoing formation by using theological reflction and documentary analysis. It further elucidates what the Pastores Dabo Vobis says about the ongoing formation of diocesan priest, and the possible ways to which it can be applied in the contemporary milieu. The primary aim of the ongoing formation is to promote a general and integral process of constant growth in order to deepen the various aspects of formation : human spiritual, intellectual and pastoral as well as to ensure their harmonious integration in the context of pastoral charity so that diocesan priests can live their consecration to God in all its wholeness contributing further growth and fullness of life.
