註釋Born December 11, 1931 in Madison County Eric Don Richardson was the 7th of 13 children born to Vernon and Mamie RIchardson. For 35 years, Don Richardson coached Madison Central baseball. His team won 962 games. His 1982 team went 40 and 0, enroute to a State Championship. They were also named National Champions, with on being named Kentucky coach of the year. In 1983, he was again named Kentucky Coach of year. In 1986, Don was honored as the National Coach of the year and is the only Kentucky coach to receive that honor as voted by the National Baseball Coaches Association. Coach Richardson also coached basketball at Madison Central, winning over 350 games. He led the Indians to the State Tournament 'Final Four' in 1987, the first time in school history that the basketball team had reached the Sweet 16. Don has been a member of the Baseball Coaches Hall of Fames since 1998 and he is a member of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association's 'Hall of Fame'. More importantly to Don, is the impact he has had on people's lives. He taught his players and students in his classroom how to make it in life. He was a husband for nearly 45 years to the love of his life, Anne. Don was an instant father to her five children. When he wasn't on the ballfield, or spending time with his children, he was farming. Every Sunday you will find him at his favorite Baptist Church. He has spent his life teaching what is right, and doing what is right. This is the story of Don Richardson.
