註釋Apparently Stanley's response to an award received by him. Describes his expedition to find Livingstone, acknowledges his debt to previous explorers Burton and Speke, states that the country he explored was now open to traders to reap "the rich harvest of ivory which avail them in the far interior," and gives some of his impressions of Livingstone.
