This thesis focuses on three major areas related to the clandestine production of amphetamine. At first, new organic marker compounds are identified which show if a certain pre-precursor was used for the production of an amphetamine sample. Secondly, different waste samples from amphetamine syntheses are characterised to determine individual patterns. Finally, discharges of synthesis waste into the sewage water are investigated using wastewater monitoring. A real case illustrates how the presented research can be used to support investigations of clandestine laboratories.eng
