註釋"Street art originally emerged from protest cultures, civil disobedience and countercultural movements of the 1960s and 1970s, when young graffiti artists in the USA began spraying their names or simple signs on houses and subway cars. Later, more and more sophisticated pictures were created that covered entire house walls. The entire city became a gallery. The pioneers took great risks and mostly remained anonymous due to illegal actions. Many of the artists on display come from the skateboard and graffiti scene and grew up with characters like Bart Simpson and Luke Skywalker - that's why the exhibition is also a reunion with the pop culture icons of the 80s and 90s." -- NRW-Forum website.
