Slanting Board
註釋Dr. Bernard Jensen lectured throughout the U.S. and around the world about health and nutrition. Early on he would tape record his lectures and then later have them typed up into booklets. He would staple them together and sell them through mail order or at his lectures. There are 21 lecture reprint booklets. The information is as timely today as it was when he started teaching about right living in the early 1940's. I have edited, revised and added to the booklets, but left the flavor of that time period and his distinct voice comes through as the content reflects his speaking more than writing style. Writers tend to stay away from writing like they are speaking when writing a book, but Dr. Bernard Jensen was adamant about his self-published books sounding like he was right there with you while you were reading his work. Lecture Reprint Booklet Number Four covers how to use the slant board and slant board exercises. The following are quotes from the book: "Gravity is a law of nature that affects the human body just as much as it affects the trees and plant life. We cannot escape from this inevitable law of nature, and so we should adapt ourselves to some procedure whereby we can overcome any ill effects we might suffer because of the effects of this law. The pull of gravity is always downward; the river flows downstream; the bird, when he loses his energy, drops back to the earth; the blade of grass, when not properly nourished, turns back into the earth. Man exists under this law also and, if he is tired and exhausted, he feels the pull of gravity pulling him down he wishes to lie down and rest. When a person is full of pep and energy, he stands upright, walks with zest, has a good posture and develops tone in every muscle of his body which holds all of the organs in the proper position. He is the master, as he is meant to be; he has control of his body; he is greater than the law of gravity."
