Numismatik des Mittelalters
註釋This volume provides a clearly arranged overall description of European medieval numismatics, including the coinage of Byzantium and the Islamic regions. It also contains a discussion of basic numismatic principles and methodology, a history of coins and money as well as a comprehensive bibliography. As a Thesaurus Nummorum, a total of 1,500 coins from the fifth to the fifteenth centuries held in the collection of the Berlin Munzkabinett are described and reproduced in colour. The book is the result of many years of work in the museum as well as teaching at the university. It can be used as text book, handbook or reference work, and may be of use to the numismatist, historian, student or coin collector.
