註釋William Powell (1789-1855), son of Samuel and Jane (Francis) Powell, was baptized at Timsbury. He married (1) Ann Chambers (1797-1838) 1814 at Timsbury. She was a daughter of Robert and Sarah (Cox) Chambers. He married (2) Phoebe (Box) Gills, a widow, in 1846. He had eleven children, who all except one, Sarah, came to America in the period of 1850 through 1854. They located first in Allegany Co., Maryland, to work in the coal mines. Descendants live in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, California and elsewhere.
