Nummer 58866 Judenkönig
註釋A biography of Kurt Julius Goldstein, a German Jew born in 1914 in Hamm, who grew up in a wealthy, assimilated Jewish family. He was expelled from school in 1932 because of his involvement with communism. In 1933 he left for Paris and then Palestine, and in 1936 travelled to Spain in order to fight against fascism. In 1939 he was arrested when he crossed the border into France intending to join the French forces fighting against Nazism. He was interned in several camps, including Saint-Cyprien, Gurs, and Le Vernier. In 1942 he was deported from the latter to Birkenau. He worked at the labor camp in Jawiszowice, where he was a kapo; he was liberated in Buchenwald, and remained in Germany after the war.
