Bylot Island lies in the eastern Canadian Arctic beside the entrance to the Northwest Passage at the northern head of Baffin Bay. The area represents not only a key part of the ecologically rich Lancaster Sound Region, proposed as a national park, but also of a future Arctic transportation corridor. This study describes the glacial history of Bylot Island adjacent Baffin Island, the bedrock geology and physiography, surficial deposits and landforms, and the Quaternary history.
