Sheltered teen Jack Pepper receives a nautilus shell from his estranged grandmother on his fourteenth birthday. When he holds it up to his ear, he's given coordinates to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean along with a time and date in the not-so-distant future. A harrowing voyage combined with supernatural intervention transports the boys to medieval Atlantis.
