Extract: Grain handlers can reduce the hazards associated with grain dust by pelleting the dust. Investment and operating costs are estimated for a portable plant and three sizes of independent stationary and add-on stationary plants (built adjacent to a grain-handling facility) at inland and port locations. Operating costs for the portable plant range from $15.17 to $55.57 per ton and for the stationary plants range from $12 to $72 per ton.
