The New Literacy
註釋This book explores how teachers, who experienced education as a linear thought process grounded in written language, can reach American public school students who are used to receiving most of the information through television and film. The book describes and analyzes the basic structural devised used in filmaking, an understanding of which could be the minimal requirement of literacy in the language of film. (This analysis also applies to television.) It also explores the teaching of visual literacy skills as part of the high school English curriculum.
