The Franz Document
註釋The Franz Document is a novel about a half-Jewish, homosexual student in Vienna, whose father is a functionary in the Austrian Nazi party. After the Germans invade Austria, he is sent to a concentration camp, accused of being an anarchist, homosexual, and Jew. Upon his release, he flees to Switzerland where he spends the war years. Later, he becomes an interpreter for the American occupation forces in Vienna. Eventually, he wends his way to India, to seek spiritual enlightenment. From there he travels to Thailand and the Philippines. It is there that he makes peace with his homosexuality.
