註釋Beginning in St Tudy, a small village in Cornwall, we follow eight generations of the Nickell family, yeoman farmers in the parishes of St Tudy, St Mabyn, St Kew, St Breock and St Issey. From 1569 to the mid nineteenth century the families rarely move more than five miles from their homes. But in 1854, a Nickell family of two adults and two children decide to risk the sea journey to Australia. Starting out as pioneer farmers in Yambuk, Western Victoria they go on the select land in Narracan, Gippsland, where they try to scratch out a living in a eucalyptus forest so thick that the rays of the sun hardly reach the ground.
