註釋Surveying the life of Jews in Nienburg (Lower Saxony) since the 17th century, mentions discrimination and conflicts between the Jews and the local population. Pp. 269-276 focus on antisemitism in the second half of the 19th century in Germany and on the persecution of Jews in Russia. Many East European Jews emigrated to Germany; some settled in Nienburg. Pp. 309-318 describe the foundation after the First World War of organizations which published antisemitic articles and pamphlets. Pp. 341-359 relate the persecution of Jews during the Nazi regime, the "Kristallnacht" pogrom in Nienburg, and the deportation of 18 Jewish citizens to concentration camps.
