The Art of Acting in Antiquity
註釋This book attempts the difficult task of discovering how classical plays were originally performed on the stage, and what influence the art of acting in antiquity has had on later European drama - particularly the Commedia dell' arte . To do this the author analyses three major groups of iconographical material in context with the written sources: phlyax vases, early Hellenistic theatre-pictures, and the diptychs of the Byzantine consul Anastasius.
