What would happen if a recently deceased person and a psychopomp (one who carries the dead to the other side) suddenly found themselves without an afterlife to go to?

This short tale, set in the world of Islands of Nightsea, explores two unusual characters who find themselves in an unprecedented situation and must decide what to do with themselves after reality fell apart when the multiverse was destroyed and left them without a destination.
