註釋
Abstract: "Production Systems have recently received a lot of attention in the context of designing and implementing rule sub-systems for relational Database Management Systems (DBMS). Although a lot of effort has been devoted into [sic] designing rule sub-systems in DBMSs, no results have been obtained yet on the performance of such systems. In this paper we attempt a comparison of suggested solutions to the problem of efficient rule (condition) evaluation. After presenting three suggested methods, we discuss extensions to these basic schemes that aim to improve their performance. Then, we define a model for rules and based on that, we present the results of a performance analysis for various database and rule base sizes and characteristics."
