註釋John Cameron "the wise" (1730-1803) married (1) Catherine Seaton and (2) Elizabeth Ferguson. The family immigrated in 1773 from Scotland to the Mohawk Valley near Schenectady, New York. He served with British forces during the Revolutionary War, and later immigrated to Nova Scotia, later acquiring land as a United Empire Loyalist in Summertown, Glengarry County, Ontario. Descendants and relatives lived in Ontario. Quebec, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and else- where. Some descendants immigrated to New York, Montana, Idaho and elsewhere in the United States.
