註釋Utilities delivery efforts in cold regions result in significant capital and operating costs. With each year new and more challenging environmental and engineering problems arise. These challenges are being met with innovative applications of well proven, as well as new, rnaterials and techniques. The objective of the third international Symposium on Utilities Delivery in Cold Regions was to continue to provide a forum for the exchange of information on the development and performance of utilities systems. Three case studies, two focussing on Barrow, Alaska, and one focussing on water supply at Tuktoyaktuk, N.W.T., presented information on design and construction of large scale municipal facilities.
