註釋This book is an annotated listing of documentary sources on the Mennonite of Siberia. The Mennonite story is an important case study of resistance to the sovietization and secularization of a small religious and German-speaking community. The archival documents abstracted are from State and Communist Party archives. The documents are unusually rich in revealing the history of the Mennonite co-op network in the 1920s, emigration of Mennonites from the USSR in 1929-1930 and repressions against Mennonites. The documents described here point to new ways of understanding the history of church-state relations, repressions and nationality in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, particularly during the Stalin era. -- back cover.
