When Jenny, Tema and Carol go with Carol's mom to the Santa Claus parade, Jenny and Tema wave to the jolly old elf in his sleigh, but they feel guilty about it afterward. After all, they're Jewish, and they celebrate Hanukkah, not Christmas. When Jenny tells her mother about it though, her mother tells her about the mysterious Hanukkah Queen, who rides in a golden chariot. As the month draws on, Jenny begins to look forward more and more to the coming of the Hanukkah Queen, and when the day arrives, she learns a wonderful lesson about love and family.
