Through all these years, Trink used his extraordinary strength of character and dedication to science to investigate the mysteries of the development of early vertebrate embryos. Along the way, through his affiliations with Yale University and the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA, Trinkaus enriched the scientific and personal lives of countless friends, students, and colleagues. His scientific career extended from the classical period of experimental embryology to the modern day molecular approach to understanding problems of development.
