Clinical Assessment Before Trial
註釋This study examines the interaction between the criminal justice and the mental health systems. It discusses forensic psychiatric assessment services, locating possible sources of difficulty, and, keeping the patient-prisoner in mind, suggests possible remedies. The kinds of decisions made by psychiatrists and the manner in which those decisions are conveyed to the courts are analyzed. Further, sociological issues are examined regarding the determination of fitness to stand trial by using scientific information within a legal adversarial model.
