Death as Concept
註釋A psychological novel about Murph, a young man just back in the states after being seriously wounded in the Vietnam War. Before being drafted and going off to fight in Vietnam, Murph had no knowledge of the world at all. That's because he is an orphan and was raised, almost from birth, in an isolated orphanage far out in the Arizona desert on an Indian reservation. The orphanage and its school were run by an elderly Catholic priest who imparted Murph with much wisdom, but "protected" him by never allowing him to go into town. When Murph gets back to the orphanage and finds the priest has gone missing, he must learn about the real world quickly in order to solve the mystery of his disappearance.
