He was late. She looked at her watch. He had said he'd be there 10 minutes ago, and he still wasn't there. Had he stood her up? Nevaeh wrung her hands and half-way regretted the day she had answered that blasted ad.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Nevaeh had just finished looking through the paper. Bad news all around. This was everyday life. She absently flipped to the classified ads. It was something that she did every so often. She almost never looked at the personals, but she found herself skimming through them. Then one particular ad caught her eye. It was short and to the point, but something about it held her attention. It read:Looking for a companion. If interested please send a picture and short letter of introduction to the address below.669 Mortimer AvenueDevil Town, OH 44491Nevaeh had never in her life even thought to send a letter to someone she didn't even know, but something inside her took over and before she even knew what happened she had penned the letter. She looked at it and thought that she should type it, but then thought better of it because then whoever this was could get a better idea of who she was through her actual handwritten words. She did worry about distance a bit because she lived in Pray, Montana. She wasn't sure she would actually hear from whoever this was.Not only had she heard from him, but he also said that he would be coming to meet her to discuss some business with her. He hadn't signed his name but by his script, Nevaeh knew it was a man. Now he was late. Then she heard her doorbell ring. She smoothed her shirt down, mainly the get rid of the sweat that suddenly formed on her hands. She walked swiftly to the door. When she opened it her mouth went dry. The man that stood in front of her took her breath away. He was gorgeous. He was easily 6'1". He wore black skinny jeans that clung to his legs and showed off his lean figure. His shirt was a loose dark gray button-up that had been tucked into his jeans. He stood casually with one hand to his side and the other in a pocket. His jet black, sleek, short cut hair drew attention to his charming face. His dark blue eyes looked at her intensely over his angular nose and thin cheeks. He had full lips that looked enchanting. He seemed to be evaluating her. She took stock of herself. She was tall for a woman at 5'11". Her shoulder length dark brown hair was straight but complimented her hazel eyes. She had full lips, angular cheeks, and a thin nose. Nevaeh stuck her hand out to him and said, "It's such a pleasure to meet you. Welcome to my home. I hope that your trip was pleasant. Please come in. I'm Nevaeh."He took her hand in his own and brought it to his lips. This old-fashioned attention made her heart shiver. Nevaeh drew him into her home, realizing along the way as they walked to the couch that he had not said a word. They sat down. She placed both hands on her lap and he took her hands in his own again. Nevaeh looked at him, her eyes sparkling. He swallowed and spoke. "You have made me feel most welcome to your home Nevaeh. Your letter of introduction made me feel that I have known you forever. As you know I am seeking a companion, but I feel that I have not been entirely honest."
