註釋This exhibition honours the recent donation to the Winnipeg Art Gallery by North Carolina collector Dr. H.G. Jones, of all Andrew Qappik's limitededition prints. Dr. Jones is Professor Emeritus of History, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and although his professional career has been focused on the history of North Carolina, he has spent over 35 years travelling in the Canadian Arctic and Studying Inuit history and culture. He began to collect Qappik's prints in 1978 and usually travelled to Pangnirtung annually to purchase prints and lend his encouragement to the artist. His essay in this catalogue gives insights into a special relationship between artist and collector. --Book Jacket.
