Tibetan Language for Daily Use, A Textbook for Beginners
註釋

I have been teaching Tibetan as a Second language for more than 10 years. I have gained valuable experience teaching Tibetan as a second language to people of all age groups with diverse levels of calibre and backgrounds. From these experiences and from all that I have listened to, observed and learnt during my interactions with them, I have come across some who have achieved proficiency and also very rich vocabulary in Tibetan language. However, because they had been unable to learn the correct base pronunciations during the initial stage of their study of the language, many had difficulty in making themselves understood during their conversations. Hence, this book has been written to enable people embarking on the initial stage of learning the Tibetan language to attain fluency in terms of being able to read clearly and pronounce well.

This book employs the Lhasa dialect to show how to spell and read and thereby pronounce words in the Tibetan language in its various orthographic aspects involving the use of vowels and consonants, prefixes and suffixes, and ways to emphasize superscribed and subscribed letters.
