Mothers and Working Mothers
註釋Factors surrounding the work home interface - choices, attitudes and pressures are examined. Choices are based on a number of pushes and pulls, the most concrete being financial need and a preference for personal child care. Personal growth through work balances the ' hassle' of the dual role. Stereotypes surrounding the role of ' housewife' and 'working mother' both tend to be negative. Women favour part time work as a compromise solution. Many other solutions have serious pitfalls. That of part or full time participation of husband in child care was examined. Conflict marks the young mothers' choices and particularly mothers in lower income groups can 'lose either way'. (Author).
