Compilation of a dictionary on any language is an arduous work. It becomes much more arduous when the language is of an remote area about which the literature is scanty. Khasi language is spoken by a tribe living in the hilly areas of North-East India. Compilation of Khasi-English Dictionary is no less than a real endevour on the part of the author. Though there is always room for further improvement in a work of this kind, yet this dictionary claim to have laid the foundation of giving a scientific orientation to the language.
