Worker Consciousness and Trade Union Response
註釋This is a comparative study of trade unions in four major industrial centres: Bombay, Madras, Bangalore, and Calcutta. The quality and character of trade union activities in these cities are noticeably dissimilar and this very fact indicates to the reader something of the social worlds to which they belong. The author examines major upheavals and changes which are taking place within the Indian labour movement. He discusses the increasing awareness of men and women in the labour movement vis-a-vis their situation as employees and trade union members. The author also cites particular cases of trade union activity and profiles some major figures in trade unions.
