Writing with the general reader in mind, Harry Boer here offers a commentary designed to make known in contemporary language the symbolic message of the book of Revelation. This is not a verse-by-verse treatment, but rather an examination and explanation of the symbolism in each chapter. Boer believes that his readers should learn to rely on the Christian and scholarly wisdom of the past as instruction for the manner in which Revelation should be read. While the book must be studied in the light of the historical situation at the time of its writing, it also has meaning for later generations of Christians up to the return of Christ.
