註釋This report makes available the oral evidence provided by Pat McFadden MP to EU Sub-Committee G (Social Policy and Consumer Affairs) following the political agreements reached in Council on 9 June 2008 in relation to: amendments to the 2003 Working Time Directive; and a new directive on the working conditions of temporary agency workers. The Committee welcome the agreements reached in Council on 9 June on both these long-standing proposals. But as there is a requirement, under the co-decision procedure, to obtain the agreement of the European Parliament, the Committee urges the Government to argue energetically the case with MEPs for the merits of the texts agreed in Council.
