Christen Aejmelaeus took his M.D. Degree in Uppsala in 1788, performed military medical service, and practiced medicine in Vasa, where he also collected and wrote on the local flora (also in collaboration with Lars J. Prytz at Abo). He defended another dissertation under Thunberg in 1788, Arbor Toxicaria Macassariensis.
