إن شخصية مثل شخصية زعيم حركة طالبان "الملا محمد عمر"، تجعلنا نقف موقفا مغمورا بالحيرة والقلق والريبة، فنحن أمام شخصية جهادية وقيادية ليست كبقية الشخصيات والقيادات التي ظهرت في العالم، شخصية تكره الأضواء، وتكره الإطلالة على وسائل الإعلام، ولا ترغب بالشهرة والتمجيد، غايتها تحقيق أهدافها بهدوء وسكينة وصمت، وأية أهداف تلك التي اختلطت سكينتها وسريتها بأزيز القنابل والمتفجرات والرصاص، وبالقاذفات الاستراتيجية الأمريكية من طراز (B52)، وصواريخ كروز بعيدة المدى التي كانت تطلق على المجاهدين الافغان من الخليج العربي والمحيط الهادي وبحر العرب.
