Afiches del peronismo
註釋Seventy-two posters illustrate the five chapters that make up the book. The chapter "The Artists" presents brief biographies of painters and illustrators of the time such as Héctor Alfonsín, Aristo Téllez, Gaspar Besares-Soraire, Roberto Enrique Demarchi, Juan Carlos Lamela and Alfredo Pachelo, amongst others. Afiches del Peronismo (Posters of Peronism) is a visual narrative of the Peronist decade, the years passed between the emergence of Peronism in October of 1945 and the fall of Perón in September 1955. Those were the glamorous years of Juan and Eva Perón, but also those of her tragic death and his political decline. They were the years of the crowds in the streets and the ritual political ceremonies, but also those of an until-then-unknown governmental activity materialized in multiple social programs. This book illustrates the many sides of that story through images selected because of their historical value as much as for their aesthetic and emotional appeal. Afiches del Peronismoʺ privileges illustrations and typographic design because they tell the story in a particular way that cannot be found anywhereʺVerso Cover.
