註釋"Wunsz King, was born in China in 1892. He studied at Columbia University earning a degree in international law. After joining the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs he participated in a number of international conferences beginning with the 1919 Paris Peace Conference and later at the League of Nations. Named Minister to the Government of The Netherlands in 1933, he remained in The Hague until 1940 when Germany invaded that country. He then spent the rest of World War II in London as Chinese ambassador to governments in exile of The Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Poland and Czechoslovakia. After the war he continued as Ambassador to Belgium. There he followed the growing crisis concerning the fate of King Leopold III who had surrendered to the Germans in 1940 and remained their prisoner till warend. The issue was whether the Belgians wanted Leopold to resume his reign. In 1948 after a chance meeting with Leopold and his second wife Princess de Rethy in Havana, Cuba, his heightened interest in the "Royal Question" led him to write this monograph. He finished this work before leaving Belgium in 1952. but he was not able to have it published and left the manuscript with his family. Wunsz King died in 1968. Recently a friend saw the manuscript and recommended that it be copied unto discs and made available to university libraries for the benefit of future students of international affairs.
