Afflictive Hope
註釋Available in paperback for the very first time, the first four published works of Geraint D. Evans. 'Afflictive Hope' was published in 2016. It is a deeply moving and personal poem that draws on the writers own experience as the son of an early onset Alzheimer's disease sufferer. This first publication by Geraint D. Evans is an intense and poignant poem. 'Loyalty', published in 2017, is a powerful exploration of what 'loyalty' means, and challenges the writer and the reader/listener to reflect on whether they have the courage and strength to live up to this ideal. 'Beauty' and 'Friendship' were both published shortly after 'Loyalty'. The first tells of the birth and growth of a beautiful woman, and draws on the life of the writer's daughter for inspiration. The latter tells of the deep bond between a father and son, and was heavily influenced by the writer's relationship with his own son. Both poems are passionate and eloquent expressions of love from a father for his children.
