註釋The publication presents the latest work by leading Brno architects Tomáš Rusín and Ivan Wahla. They belong to the generation that entered professional life at the turn of the eighties and nineties and very soon was given the opportunity to design and build independently. They are united not only by their generational affiliation, but also by their value orientation, which is reflected in their work. Their characteristic features include the search for new possibilities of interpretation of the architectural tradition, respect for the place and context, as well as interest in the material and craftsmanship of the building. Through their work, they prove the paradox that it is possible to be conservative and modern at the same time. Their architecture is characterized by a certain solidity, which, however, is not sedentary: they can transform the classic tradition, smooth modernist elegance and inspiration from the architecture of anonymous builders into a contemporary and functional new whole. Their houses serve people well, among other things, because they are legible for them and do not lose their human scale. They show similar consideration as to man to the place and landscape.
