A Hot Stage Microscope Incorporating a Differential Thermal Analysis Unit
註釋The design and operation are described of a hot stage microscope which also functions as a microthermal analyser and as a microdifferential thermal analyser. Based upon the use of two opposed, viewable, thermocouple microfurnaces, the instrument provides a sensitive means of detecting the heat effects which accompany reactions which may occur when small quantities (less than 1 mg) of materials are either rapidly quenched or are undergoing programmed temperature change. This instrument has been used at temperatures up to 1800 degrees C and with use of suitable thermocouples it is possible to achieve temperatures up to 2500 degrees C.
