註釋This is the first of a planned series of volumes on the flora & fauna of Saskatchewan. It focusses on mammals that tend to be widely distributed in the province, well known to the public, and most likely to be seen. The volume describes their appearance, habits, food, habitat, survival strategies, ecological relationships, status, and geographic range. The introduction gives a brief overview of the characteristics of the class Mammalia, as well as the considerations to keep in mind when viewing mammals. The mammal species accounts are arranged in order of systematic classification. Appendices include a list of all mammals of Saskatchewan, specific viewing site information, an overview of ecosystem processes & ecological land classification, and details on the characteristics of the province's ecozones.
