DREAMers
註釋Undocumented immigrant children in our country have been caught in the crossfire of changing federal policies and heated public sentiment. They were brought to this country as young children--through no choice of their own--by parents seeking stability and safety for their family. These youth, many of them now young adults, have played with our children, have excelled in our schools, speak and think and dream like their citizen-peers. They value and do not take for granted the privilege of going to school, of working, of living with their families. These young immigrants are American in every way but one: they have no Social Security number. We believe that their voices are important and that they deserve to be heard.
