The Department is responsible for highways & other public works, provincial real property, and support for the transportation system in Nova Scotia. This report summarizes departmental accomplishments in achieving business plan priorities & goals during the year under the priorities established under its core businesses: construction, maintenance, & operation of provincial roads, bridges, & ferries; planning & management of highway & building infrastructure; management services for government construction projects; environmental services; and administration of provincial industrial water utilities. A summary of budgeted & actual expenditures is also included. The final section presents departmental performance measures and reports on the degree of achievement of those measures along with goals for the next year.
