註釋A beautifully illustrated children's book, full of adventure, action and comedy - aimed at ages 6 - 12, but adults will love it too. Unbeknown to humans each year a great Bird Song contest takes place between the state birds of the USA. A young scissor-tailed flycatcher named Knocker with a crooked wing, lazy eye, unable to fly, sets forth on his dream to represent Oklahoma in this contest. Even though life has been unkind to Knocker by taking his mother away from him when he was young, he is determined to follow his dreams. With only a bucket sun hat, a brown shoulder bag and a book of poems, he sets forth on his dangerous journey. As he travels he meets many friends and foes along the way, but whomever he meets he treats them all with the same love and generosity.
