At Penelec, Project Management is a Way of Life
註釋In the early 1980s, Pennsylvania Electric Company (Penelec) implemented--with much organizational commitment--a computerized project management practice, an investment that proved more valuable that the cost of the software and that enabled Penelec to change the way they served customers and conducted operations. This article discusses Penelec's experience in transforming their organization into a project-oriented operation. It describes the process the company used to implement its computerized system, the goal of instituting this system, and the factors that influenced the company's decision to adopt a computerized system for controlling schedules and costs of outages and for managing capital construction and retrofit projects. It also explains the benefits that Penelec has realized as a result of using this system.
