註釋Benjamin Williams, Jr., born in Pennsylvania, arrived in Greene County, Tennessee about 1795. He became a successful farmer and salt dealer, and held various local public offices. During the last 13 years of his life, he was a preacher and deacon at the Carter's Station Methodist Church. Benjamin, who died in 1848, had three wives during his lifetime, by whom he had 13 sons and 3 daughters. Four of the children remained in Tennessee, but the others moved west into Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, and elsewhere.
