"Women's Work" as Political Art
註釋The author looks at the metaphor of weaving in Plato's dialogues and other ancient Greek works. Weaving is fundamentally rooted in a dialectical approach to political life. It is tempting to think that the 'folksy' image of weaving offers an anti-intellectual or simplified approach to political life. Related to this conception is the notion that weaving is most commonly associated wih the domestic activities of women. One of the major findings of this study is that weaving preserves complexity and maintains both theory and practice in ways which are accesible and appeal to masculine and feminine concerns.
