Nutrition and Exercise for the Over Fifty's
註釋Abstract: Guidelines are offered for improving nutrition, physical fitness, and mental acuity, and for minimizing degenerative and chronic illness for people over 50 years of age. Nutritional guidelines include: nutrition needs past age 50; dietary recommendations; the advantages of fiber and the disadvantages of junk foods; menu suggestions; and food sources of selected nutrients. Advice on exercise includes: the value of physical fitness routine, including aerobic exercises; the advantages of weight lifting and calisthenics; when to exercise; and how to relax. A variety of stretching exercises are described. The authors feel that by following these guidelines it is possible to maintain vigor and mental alertness into advanced years. (wz).
